Both! The ceremony will be held outdoors on the West Terrace, and guests will need to walk on the grass to reach their seats, so please choose your shoes with this in mind. The reception, including cocktail hour, will take place inside the Carriage House.
Guests should arrive at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens at 3:00 pm. At 3:15 pm, all guests will be shown to their seats, and the ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 pm. If you arrive AFTER 3:15 pm, you risk missing the ceremony altogether! Mitigate this potential by taking advantage of the provided shuttle service from the hotel.
This is a formal event. Please, no jeans or tennis shoes. If you have an extremely fancy outfit you've never "found an occasion" for, consider this that occasion. In the spirit of English wedding tradition, fascinators are encouraged but not required. Optionally, guests may choose to dress in rich, moody colors to fit the theme of the event.
No. This is an unplugged ceremony, and we have hired a professional photographer to capture the evening for us. You can take as many pictures and videos as you want during the reception!
We have intentionally kept our guest list small and intimate, and we respectfully ask that attendees are limited to only those whose names are listed on the invitations and RSVP form. We hope that parents can take the night off from childrearing duties and enjoy the evening!
We want to make dinner as accessible as possible for all our loved ones. All the passed appetizers and entrees will be gluten free, and we've included a vegan option for dinner. If you have any specific allergies or intolerances, please let us know ASAP so we can work to accommodate you.
Yes, the reception will include an open bar. However, please note that the bar will close at 9 pm. Only water and soft drinks will be served for the last hour of the event. This is the venue's policy!
For guests who will stay in the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls, there will be a shuttle service providing transportation both to and from Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. The shuttle will make two trips to the venue, one at 2:30 PM and another at 3:00 PM, and will make intermittent trips back to the hotel beginning at 8:00 PM. Please note that the shuttle can only carry 35 passengers at once! Any guest is also welcome to leave their vehicle in the Stan Hywet parking lot overnight and retrieve it in the morning. Better that than drink and drive!
