Our Story - Reese's POV

I don't remember the first time I met Alex, since it was probably soon after we were born, either at the Honey Island General, or somewhere else in town. We went to preschool and all throughout Kountze ISD together. In eighth grade, Alex asked me to be his girlfriend, two weeks later he told me he loved me, and I decided that was too much so I broke up with him. After a few years of REALLY not liking each other. We ended up back as best friends from sophomore year on. After high school, we disconnected, but in July of 2024, I reached out to Alex over text to apologize to him for the disconnection and hopefully become friends again. He (of course) was excited to hear from me and we immediately clicked again. He had moved to Oklahoma for work during this time. About two weeks later, he came down from Oklahoma to visit and told me he loved me *again!* I decided that it wouldn't be too much this time and we became official. We did seven months of long distance from Kountze to Beggs. We would have nightly FaceTimes and tried to have monthly trips to see each other. During this time, we talked and dreamed of getting married and living in the same town again. We got to experience so much together and had so many fun adventures in Oklahoma. On March 31, Alex was able to move back home to Kountze after accepting a position of student minister at Cornerstone. After this, I not-so patiently waited for him to ask to marry me. He proposed on May 31 and I couldn't have been more excited. Now, on March 13, we get to start our marriage and start building our home together. Alex is truly my best friend and my perfect match, I thank God everyday for blessing me how He has with Alex. I constantly think of how blessed I am to be loved by someone who understands, pushes, and cares for me. We are excited to serve the Lord together and to be able to be with each other all the time!

Our Story - Alex's POV

I've known Reese all my life whether it was my grandma bring me to the store, and seeing a pretty girl with her Poppa or seeing her at All Faiths. Reese and I's life has always been connected, almost every grade, we had the same teacher or at least on the same rotation of classes all the way through school. When we were in the 8th grade I asked her to be my girlfriend. Then a week later I told her I loved her, she still says I didn't even know what it was, but I swear I did and still do. After her breaking my heart in 8th grade we became pretty mean towards each other. After our freshman year we started to become a little closer and became friends like we'd known each other our whole lives. After graduating she and I drifted back apart, but she reached out in July of '24 and I was smitten all over again. I soon found a reason to go home at least once a month despite now living in Oklahoma. I was offered a position at the Church that helped raise me and nurtured my relationship with Christ and a big bonus was being way closer to Reese. I knew this was something that was from the Lord, I have been so blessed grow in the Lord together with Reese she is my best friend and my biggest supporter. March 13th can't come any sooner because I know that God has made us for each other to be bonded together for our life.
