Things To Do

Welcome to God’s Country 🌍 On my very first trip to South Africa, Vandan took me to so many of these places — the mountains, the markets, the beaches, the quiet corners filled with light. Those first moments left a mark on me, and I’ve held them close ever since. Now, we get to share them with you. From golden coastlines to winding wine routes, Cape Town is pure magic — a place that feels touched by something bigger. Whether you're arriving from London, Johannesburg, the US, or somewhere in between, we hope you find something new here: a view that stays with you, a meal you’ll crave again, or just a feeling you want to carry home. These are our personal recommendations — our favourites — to help you make the most of your time in this very special corner of the world. Pack your bags, put on your sunglasses, and get ready for a memorable week with us.

🏔️ Nature

🦁 Hike Up Lion’s Head A classic Cape Town experience! This relatively short but steep hike spirals around the mountain with 360° views of the city, ocean, and Table Mountain. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours round-trip. For an extra treat, hike at sunrise for a golden start to your day. 🏖️ Clifton 4th Beach Arguably Cape Town’s most beautiful beach — soft white sand, turquoise water, and a wind-sheltered cove perfect for lounging. It’s lively but never overcrowded, and ideal for a post-lunch nap in the sun. 🏖️ Llandudno Beach Tucked away just outside the city, Llandudno feels like a hidden gem. Surrounded by dramatic boulders and mountains, it’s a little wild, a little romantic, and a local favourite for sunsets and surf. 🌄 Pipe Track Trail Running along the side of Table Mountain, this flat and scenic trail offers sweeping views over Camps Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. No steep climbs — just wide skies and peaceful walking.

☀ Sunset Spotting

☀ Sunset Spotting

We both have always loved a good sunrise or sunset — there’s something grounding and beautiful about watching the sky shift. On my first trip to South Africa, Vandan took me to some of these exact spots. They’ve stayed with me ever since, and they feel extra special to both of us now. Here are a few of our favourite places to watch the day begin or end! Lion’s Head – Beautiful at both sunrise and sunset. Hike up for panoramic views, or paraglide down at sunrise for something unforgettable. Signal Hill – An easy, iconic spot to drive up for a relaxed sunset picnic overlooking the city and ocean. Llandudno Beach – A tucked-away gem with golden sands and a dramatic coastline. Pure magic at sunset. Chapman’s Peak Drive – One of the most scenic drives in the world. Stop along the way for stunning golden hour views. Clifton 4th Beach – Calm, beautiful, and wind-sheltered — a lovely place to unwind by the sea as the sun sets.
