HOW WE MET?

two sides of the same love story

02.07.2017

Her Side

It all began with a phone call from my mom. At the time I was living in Kansas City, she mentioned a guy she heard about from our family friends. I tried to avoid the topic & end the conversation, but I was curious so I did some stalking on Facebook and reached out to some mutual family friends to make sure he was "normal". I gave it some thought & decided to give it a chance (thank God I did). It began with a text from him (thankfully not an email). We texted non-stop and laughed our hearts out especially when we would tell each other knock-knock jokes and reminisced about our love for Taco bell. After talking for a month, I mentioned I was making a trip to HTX for a friend's engagement, he asked me to dinner the next day. He picked me up, brought me flowers and Pedialyte (I was totally not hungover on our first date) and took me to True Foods. We walked to Creamistry after (he remembered I loved Thai tea ice cream). Few weeks later, he came to visit me in KC, that’s when I knew he was the one. Like they say, "when you know you know”. I took him around the city to all my favorite spots, introduced him to my work friends, we even finished the whole season of "the night of" in one weekend. I was 100% myself and knew he would take the best care of me knowing he is patient, humble & the most loving person. Few of my favorite memories are the many travel adventures. In Greece, we saw the most beautiful views (check out the gallery tab) and had the best food. We also love Netflix and wine nights in our onesies & exercising. One of the best days of our lives was when Rick planned an amazing surprise proposal at the Dallas Arboretum at the heart shape balcony playing "Perfect" by Ed Sheeren (our first concert) and had my best friends/family wearing Aggie (WHOOP) colored shirts spelling “Will you marry me?”. It's been 3 amazing years, and he still continues to be my rock, travel buddy, and best friend. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him & celebrate our love.

His Side

Our story is one of kind, I guess that is true for everyone. Well, the first I heard of Reena I was on a snowmobile in Utah. My brother had mentioned there was a girl from Dallas, I thought he was messing with me as usual. A few days later on our way back home, he brings it up again and told him "you are full of lies" we laughed about it. When I get back home I find out from more friends and family that Reena was real. I immediately began to think about how to contact her, I nervously sent a text and thus began non-stop texting and phone calls. I could not get enough of talking to this tiny person (5'3), We were able to finally meet in person and I planned a wonderful first date. She had "a lot" of fun the night before so I knew that Pedialyte would be crucial along with picking nothing too crazy, just a nice dinner and a walk to get ice cream. It was genuinely one of the most nerve-wracking and wonderful evenings of my life. I thought it went well but I awaited Reena's response as the next day she was going back to Kansas. She seemed to of had a great time as I went to Kansas a few weeks later for an unforgettable trip. I had no idea what was in Kansas City, Reena demonstrated her astonishing hosting skills and took me to every hot spot. We finished our evening and that night Reena changed into a onesie, had a tv show picked out, and I knew that we were perfect together. Since that Kansas City trip, Reena has not stopped making me laugh and smile. She is my adorable, lovable, and remarkable person. I do wish she would stop trying to scare me every chance she gets, but I don't mind because it's going to make life very interesting moving forward (she does it so often!!). Reena will continue to be my best friend, adventure guide, and love of my life. I cannot wait to see what life is going to bring our way and have you by my side throughout everything. She takes my heart away with every breath (and every scare)! Check out our adventures together in the gallery tab.

For all the days along the way
