Our story technically starts in middle school — back when crushes were formed over group projects and awkward hallway eye contact. Reema and Rushit first met somewhere between lockers that wouldn’t open and math homework neither of them wanted to do. They shared a few classes, a few laughs, and the familiarity of growing up in the same place at the same time. In high school, they continued orbiting each other — close enough to know one another, but not yet close enough to know what the future held. Then life did what life does. Reema packed her bags and headed to the University of Texas, ready to take on Austin and everything that came with it. Rushit made his way to the University of Houston, embracing a new chapter of his own. Different campuses. Different cities. Different versions of themselves, all growing independently. Until January 2023. Somewhere between New Year’s greetings and casual catch-up conversations, they found their way back to each other. What started as a simple reconnection quickly felt familiar — easy, natural, and unexpectedly right. That first date confirmed what neither had quite anticipated: this wasn’t just revisiting the past, but the start of something new. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable. What began as hallway acquaintances grew into partners in adventure, travel companions, and each other’s favorite person. They’ve wandered the vibrant streets of Mexico City, layered up against the chill in Canada, savored pasta and gelato in Italy, and embraced family, culture, and joyful chaos in India. Each place adding a new chapter, each memory weaving them closer together. Turns out, sometimes your person has been there all along — you just need a little time, a little distance, and the right moment to find your way back to each other. 💛
