We are encouraging guests to stay on Palm Island to fully enjoy the wedding weekend. Please check out our list of recommended vacation rentals on the island. Most rentals on the island are listed on VRBO. Because Palm Island is only accessible by car ferry, staying on the island will be the most convenient option if you plan to attend multiple events throughout the weekend. For those who prefer a hotel stay, there are accommodations available off island. If you choose to stay off island, we will provide transportation from the ferry landing to the wedding events. Please let Kate know if you need transportation from the ferry landing for the beach day and/or the wedding. Yes! If you prefer to stay in a hotel, there are several options in Englewood and surrounding areas off-island. If staying off-island, you will simply take the ferry over for wedding events. We will provide transport from the ferry landing to wedding events if you choose to walk over on the ferry.
There are no grocery or convenience stores on the island and only one restaurant, Rum Bay. If you are staying on the island, please plan accordingly. Before taking the ferry, you will need to: -Grocery shop on the mainland -Bring toiletries, medications, and personal essentials We recommend rental groups coordinate grocery lists and shop together before arriving on the island. Nearby grocery stores (all located on the mainland before the ferry landing): Publix Super Market at Merchants Crossing 1500 Placida Rd Englewood, FL 34223 Walmart Supercenter – Englewood 2931 S McCall Rd Englewood, FL 34224 Winn-Dixie 1951 S McCall Rd #200 Englewood, FL 34223
Beach Casual Think casual-dressy with coastal Florida vibes. Lightweight fabrics, breezy outfits, and comfortable shoes (or barefoot for the ceremony) are all welcome. Jackets and ties are not necessary. Please no jeans.
For guests flying in, the airport options are: Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) – Closest Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) – Fort Myers Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) – Sarasota We recommend renting a car if you are staying on the island and picking up groceries and essentials on your way to the ferry landing.
If you’re staying on the island, you can bring your car over on the ferry and drive to your rental home. You can also cruise around by golf cart — which is a favorite island-style way to explore. Golf carts are a fun and convenient way to get to the beach, Rum Bay restaurant, and wedding events. For golf cart rentals, please contact Heather Stout 352-484-8291 and mention the Reed / Stevenson Wedding to receive a discounted rental rate.
We kindly ask that you only bring the guests listed on your invitation. Thank you for helping us keep our celebration intimate!
