We met in the spring of 2021, when first dates were best spent outdoors and conversations had room to wander. After matching on Bumble, we went for what was meant to be a simple walk — one that stretched into four hours as we made our way across Stanford’s campus and through downtown Palo Alto. The evening ended with a stop for ice cream at Salt & Straw, an easy extension of a conversation neither of us was ready to cut short. As our relationship grew, so did our world. We introduced each other to the stories, films, and childhood favorites that shaped us, learning not just to appreciate but to genuinely celebrate each other’s passions. Along the way, we balanced one another — gaining confidence, perspective, and new skills through shared adventure and everyday moments, defined by an easy comfort and conversations that rarely felt rushed.
