Our story starts back at Teurlings Catholic High School. To Reed, Emily was just the overachieving underclassman on student council. To Emily, Reed was that one upperclassman who wore a banana costume to school. Little did Emily know, the boy in that costume would one day be the love of her life. We both went on to attend UL, and our paths began crossing even more. Through retreats and events with the Catholic student center and game nights with mutual friends, we started to get to know each other a little better, this time without high school awkwardness and banana costumes. After earning a PR degree and serving a year as a Lifeteen missionary for Reed, and after earning a Nursing degree and starting work for Emily, our paths crossed yet again at two of our best friend’s wedding (shoutout to the Guillots). Reed noticed Emily at the bar and struck up a conversation. We hit it off immediately, and spent the rest of the night talking and dancing. A few weeks later, and after a lot of thinking about that wedding, Reed asked Emily out on a date after Mass. After that first date, it was evident that this was something special. After almost one year of dating, on January 4, 2026, Reed proposed in our home Church, St. Leo the Great, and it was the easiest yes Emily could make!
