Here are some of our favoite places to eat and some fun things to do while you are here with us in DC

Duke's Grocery

2000 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20006

There are tons of locations throughout the city of Duke’s. Duke’s is known for their burger but their spicy aubergine sandwich is our favorite.

Andy's Pizza Foggy Bottom

2000 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20006

Amazing place for a quick slice or to order a full pizza from.

Compliments Only

2029 P Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20036

Absolutely amazing place for a sandwich to eat in DuPont circle. Our favorite is the crunchy boy, and don’t be fooled these sandwiches can easily be shared.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Farragut Square

1634 I Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20006

There are a ton of locations for Tatte, it’s a great place for a quick coffee and pastry before the museums or monuments.

Pizzeria Paradiso

3282 M Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20007

Great place to call in a pizza to pick up after a long day of touristy activities.

Taqueria Al Lado

1792 Columbia Road Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

Our favorite taco place in the city! Their mezcal margarita is Holly's go to!

Lapis

1847 Columbia Road Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

Absolutely delicious Afghan food that is a must try in our neighborhood.

Old Ebbitt Grill

675 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20005

This will be your “classic” DC meal right by the White House.

Filomena Ristorante

1063 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20007

A delicious sit down Italian restaurant in classic Georgetown fashion.

Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers

3000 K Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20007

Dacha Beer Garden (Shaw)

1600 7th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

A great beer garden and one of my first places to go with Teresa when I moved to town.

Ambar Capitol Hill

523 8th Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

DC is known for their bottomless brunch, so if you're wanting to experience bottomless mimosas and Balkan cuisine this is the place for you.

Smithsonian Institute

600 Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20560

All of the Smithsonian museums are free and are absolutely amazing. Please see as many as you can and take your time to take it all in.

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

3001 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

Our zoo is also run by the Smithsonian and free. It’s an amazing zoo, and hopefully we will have the pandas back by June.

Nationals Park

1500 South Capitol Street SE, Washington, DC 20003

Our baseball team has an amazing stadium with views of the monuments if you’d like to see a game and they’re in town.

Jazz in the Gardens

National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC 20004

Jazz in the garden is such a fun event, you'll have to look to get tickets in advance, but it is definitely worth it!

Dumbarton Oaks Gardens

1703 32nd Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20007

Great area to grab lunch or a picnic or try and get a small hike in. They also have a museum if you would like to see that.

Washington National Cathedral

3101 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016

If you would like to see where Reece and I got engaged the National Cathedral's gardens are beautiful this time of year and they have an adorable coffee shop to take in the views.

Hop On Hop Off DC Tours by Old Town Trolley

1001 E Street NW, Washington, DC 20004

If this is your first time in DC I recommend trying to see all of the monuments and museums through a hop on and off bus that goes throughout the city. This is the link to one of the more popular options, but there are plenty to choose from.

For all the days along the way
