Reeca and Steven met through mutual friends. Oddly enough, Steven knew some of Reeca's friends and family before he even met her. One of their friends would always tell her "You should meet Steven", "You'd be perfect for each other". Reeca thought her friend was crazy and showed no interest at the time. Little by little, though, they started to see each other in group outings. After a few months of getting to know each other and spending time together, Steven got the courage to ask Reeca to be his girlfriend after dinner and a movie. Reeca jokingly said, "I'll think about it", but then laughed and excitedly, said "Yes!"

On Saturday, April 15, we gathered at Reeca's parents house for an Easter brunch and celebration. After the kids found all of their eggs, Logan was given a big egg. He then found Reeca and said, "This is for Mommy". Confused, Reeca asked, "For me?" She opened the egg and a black box was in it. Steven then took the box and got down on one knee. Inside the box was a ring. At a loss for words and in typical Reeca fashion, she said "Stop it!" Then, in front of both families and closest friends, Steven popped the question. He asked Reeca, "Will you marry me?" And in tears, she happily said "Yes!"
