FAQs

Question

Are kids invited to the wedding?

Answer

We have made the decision to have a kid-free wedding! Please make arrangements for your children if you plan to attend.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

No, there will not be an open bar. Please BYOB or bring cash to purchase beer and wine at the cash bar. (And be sure to tip our bartender!)

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

Yes, our wedding registry can be found on the 'registry' tab on this website. We have included some physical gifts that we would appreciate, but we are also gladly accepting donations to our honeymoon fund in lieu of a gift!

Question

Is there cell service in Hico, West Virginia?

Answer

Cell service can be spotty at and near The Confluence Resort. We recommend downloading offline maps and screenshotting directions to the venue in the event you lose service on the way there.

Question

Directions to The Confluence Resort

Answer

Fayetteville WV: From Route 19 North, take Exit 4 onto Midland Trail towards Gauley Bridge. In half a mile, turn right onto Sunday Road. Follow this narrow, winding road for approximately 6 miles. Keep in mind that our West Virginia roads are like no other, often seeming more like one lane road rather than a two-way street. Drive carefully, and be prepared to drop a tire onto the gravel shoulder to accommodate other passing cars. After 5.9 miles on Sunday Road, turn right onto Patterson Ferry Road. You will see a sign for The Confluence Resort shortly before this turn. In less than a mile, you will see signs for Visitor Parking. Turn left into the resort, and parking attendants will direct you to a spot in the Visitor Parking lot. Summersville, WV: From Route 19 South, turn right onto Arrowwood Creek Road. In half a mile, turn left onto Miller Ridge Road. After 1.3 miles, turn right onto Sunday Road. Keep in mind that our West Virginia roads are like no other, often seeming more like one lane road rather than a two-way street. Drive carefully, and be prepared to drop a tire onto the gravel shoulder to accommodate other passing cars. After 2.3 miles, turn right onto Patterson Ferry Road. You will see a sign for The Confluence Resort shortly before this turn. In less than a mile, you will see signs for Visitor Parking. Turn left into the resort, and parking attendants will direct you to a spot in the Visitor Parking lot.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

You can find our recommendations under the 'Travel' tab on our website. Our hotel block will be available until two weeks before the wedding, but if you plan on staying in a cabin or Airbnb, we recommend booking early as fall can be a busy time in our tourist town.
