"In light of everything going on in the world, our wedding that was supposed to be April 25th, had to be postponed. And when Maryland courthouses closed, there was nothing we could do but wait. Nick suggested that morning we dress up to visit our venue, in memory of our once-was wedding day. When we arrived, we walked straight to the ceremony location. I joked that if he stood at the light post, I could pretend to walk down the aisle to him. As I walked towards him, I couldn't help but notice how truly beautiful the day was and how perfect a wedding would have been. When I met him, he pulled our wedding rings out of his pocket along with a paper where he written vows for us. He said, 'We can sign a piece of paper whenever we want. Let's make today our day.' So we put on our rings, said our vows, and we kissed. And that was that. While we may not be legally wed until we sign a piece of paper, to us we are husband and wife, and it will be the day we celebrate for the rest of our lives."
