How We Met

We both have the blessing of having met very early on in our lives, close to the ages of four and eight years old while our families attended the same church! As time passed and as we grew older we both got involved in lives of our own until December 16th of 2021 when we happened to reconnect over social media. After taking a short period of time to catch up with each other over text, Kyle wasted no time and took Rebekah out for a first date to P.F. Chang's the night before Christmas Eve, and this was the beginning of our love story.

The Proposal

We joyfully became engaged on June 11th, 2023 while visiting the beautiful Mackinac Island with family. Shortly after arriving on the island in the afternoon, we stopped to pick up pizza for everyone and took it back to the place where we were all staying. Soon after finishing our pizza, Kyle asked me if I wanted to go for a bike ride and make a stop for coffee, so we started on our adventure. As we were biking along the trail in front of Mission Point, Kyle went rogue and said, "Hey let's go look at the flowers over here!" I felt unsure if biking on the freshly cut grass was something that was acceptable or not and was hesitant but ultimately decided to tag along with Kyle. By the time I parked my bike in front of the aisle leading up to the gazebo, Kyle was waiting to take my hand and walk me along the pathway to the special place he planned to propose. He took my hand and led me down the path that was beautifully decorated with flowers and candles, with the help of his sister, McKenzie. He got down on one knee and simply, yet sweetly, asked, “Will you marry me?” The easiest and most certain answer was a whole-hearted, “YES!” We spent the evening together out at a nice dinner, and enjoying the new season of life we had just entered into. Now, we eagerly look forward to getting to call one another, “husband,” and “wife.”

To Our Friends and Family

We want to say thank you to each of you who have loved us and prayed for us along the way in our relationship. We see the many blessings the Lord has given to us and we are beyond thankful to have the sweetest people in our lives and cheering us on. We look forward to celebrating our marriage with each of you!
