How We Met

Kory and I met online...who would have thought! We reached out to each other off and on for about 2 years before meeting each other. In the final months of my Senior year of high school, I turned 18 and I am sure by only "coincidence" Kory reached out to me about going on a first date. He was a freshman at Washington State University about to come home for the summer. I told him I would go on a first date with him, but only if he came to my house to pick me up. He came up in his big white truck and rang the doorbell with those gorgeous pearly whites....the rest is history.

The Engagement

On our four year anniversary Kory had planned the same exact date we went on for our first date (but I didn't know this at the time). That morning I was having a terrible hair day, my skin was flaring up, and there was supposed to be a lightning storm...what else could go wrong? I was getting ready for our date and was straightforward with Kory and asked him if this was "the day". He kept his cool and said "no it wouldn't be today, that would be WAY too obvious". In my mind I thanked God because man did I feel ROUGH. We went to dinner and I was getting frustrated with Kory because he was on his phone ALOT. (Come to find out, he was coordinating with our family where and when to meet after he proposed) We went to Kerry Park (lookout of Seattle) where we sat on the ledge and talked, but I was getting cold and told him we should head out. He asked me to help him up (with his knees this is nothing new for me) so I grabbed his hands to pull him up and he was on one knee with the box in his hand! I was SO thrown off! Completely speechless. My brother came up behind us and was taking pictures the entire time...who knew Kory was such a planner! We walked to our favorite ice cream shop and THE WHOLE family was there. MORE SHOCK. One of the greatest days with family by our side.
