FAQs

This page will be updated often, so please check back leading up to the wedding. If you have any additional questions feel free to text Jimmy or Rebekah!
Question

When do we hit the beach?

Answer

Tepoztlan is a city in the central heart of Mexico which means that there are no beaches in immediate sight. Instead you will be enjoying views of the mountains in this small *magical* town. No sand in your suitcase, no problems! Still itching to dip your toes in water? Check out the hotels and homes for rent outlined on our travel page for some stunner pools!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We expect the weather to be warm, and we want everyone to be comfortable. We'd still like to keep the event semi formal, but ties and jackets aren't necessary.

Question

is tepoztlan safe?

Answer

Yes! Although we understand that travelling to a new area can sometimes be intimidating, so we urge you to do your own research in order to feel comfortable.

Question

Will I get zika?

Answer

The World Health Organization doesn't think so. Although the Zika virus is present in coastal and tropical areas of Mexico, Tepotzlan is located in a mountainous high desert area. The CDC & WHO websites provide excellent maps and information about the virus and its prevalence. By best estimates, you are more likely to contract Zika in the southern US than in central Mexico. Additionally, the World Health Organization has indicated it's safe for all people to travel to areas of higher elevation since the mosquitoes who carry the virus can't live in those climates. As always, we encourage you to do your own research, and talk to your healthcare provider.
