FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, children are welcome! Please let us know if you plan to come as a family. We are looking into childcare options for babies/very young children at the venue during the wedding itself, as necessary.

Question

Is the area safe?

Answer

Yes. Bogota is one of South America's safest urban areas. The Chapinero Alto and Rosales neighborhoods where wedding events will take place are hip parts of town that are much calmer and more residential than the tourist-filled center but still stacked with good restaurants and hotels. Rebekah and Esteban walk, use public transport and take cabs in the area, which is close to where Esteban grew up. The wedding itself is at a very secure social club.

Question

What do I wear in Bogota?

Answer

We planned the wedding for the warmest and sunniest part of the year. That said, Bogotá is famous for its changing weather. You can get sunny, rainy and cloudy in just one day. The temperature varies between 7 and 20°C (45 and 68°F). So, please dress in layers for weather you might find in the early fall in Montreal or NYC. That time of the year in which the morning might be a bit chilly, so a cozy sweater works perfectly. A nice shirt underneath for when the sun shines and you need a bit of sunblock. And keep in mind that having a jacket close by for wind or rain might be a good idea. We call it: "the onion."

Question

What is the wedding dress code?

Answer

For Saturday, the dress code calls for elegant cocktail attire. The venue is an old club nestled on the side of the mountain. Suits and knee- or ankle-length dresses would be appropriate. If you're uncertain about your outfit choice, feel free to check in with us! There are gardens at the venue you can peruse at your leisure, but you will not have to walk through grass at any point to reach the wedding events.
