We met in Oklahoma City at Casady high school and began dating our Junior year after Rebekah stole Clark's heart with a few donuts. Two years later, we both moved to Texas for college, Clark to the University of Texas at Austin and Rebekah to Southern Methodist University in Dallas. After deciding we wouldn't push a long-distance relationship, and very fun first semesters, we returned home to OKC for our first winter break. Together at a New Year's Eve party, we both knew what we had would be worth trying out long-distance. Eight years, and numerous trips between OKC, Dallas, and Austin later, I'd say it went pretty well!
Clark had an Austin scavenger-hunt proposal planned, ending with a celebration including our friends and family! Unfortunately, the universe had other plans. Once the initial COVID-19 shutdown was lifted, Rebekah drove up to visit family in OKC. On the way to get dinner with Clark's parents, he pulled off and stopped at Kite Park where he had set up pictures, flowers, champagne, and, of course, chocolate, where he got down on one knee. After saying "Yes!" Clark surprised Rebekah with their parents nearby photographing it all.
