A Little Out of Order, Exactly Right.

Some love stories follow a traditional timeline… ours took the scenic route—and somehow ended up exactly where it was always meant to be.

Rebekah and CJ first met when Rebekah was in high school and CJ was already a few years ahead in life. By most standards, it wasn’t the most conventional beginning—but what started with a little teenage rebellion (and a few sneaky outings) quickly grew into something neither of them could ignore. Before long, they were inseparable. As their relationship deepened, life began pulling them in different directions. CJ was ready to settle down, building a home and a future, while Rebekah felt called to Radford University to pursue her education degree and experience life beyond their hometown. They spent two years navigating long distance before eventually going their separate ways—something Rebekah will be the first to admit wasn’t her proudest chapter. But even time and distance couldn’t rewrite what was meant to be. Three years later, on a random night out in May 2017, they ran into each other—and in an instant, it was as if no time had passed at all. The connection was still there, just waiting for the right moment. This time, with timing finally on their side, everything felt easy, certain, and right. By the end of that year, they were building a life together and stepping into the future they had once only imagined. And then, their world grew in the most beautiful way. They welcomed their son, Carter, in December 2018, and their daughter, Avery, in September 2020. In the middle of sleepless nights, first milestones, and learning how to be parents (while still figuring out life themselves), they built something even greater than a love story—a family. A home filled with laughter, chaos, and more love than they ever thought possible. They had everything… or so it seemed. The house, the babies, the life they had dreamed of—just not the ring. After years of love, growth, and what Rebekah would confidently describe as a very patient wait, CJ finally got down on one knee on Christmas morning in 2024—making it one of the most unforgettable gifts yet. Now, with Carter and Avery by their side, they are so excited to officially become the Caton family—sharing not just a home and a life, but a last name too. It may not have been the order they planned—but it was always the life, the love, and the family they were meant to build.
