We decided to get married at Lyndhurst for several reasons, one of which was our mutual connection to the property from our respective childhoods. The property has hosted an annual fall crafts fair for 40 or so years, and when Lyndhurst popped up as a potential wedding venue, we realized that we both shared fond memories of attending the crafts fair when we were younger. We decided to get married at Lyndhurst during Fall Crafts so that our guests could experience the beauty of the property and our memory of it from when we were young, probably running around the grounds barefoot with elaborate face paint. Feel free to do the same during the day on Saturday or Sunday.
Located about 5 miles away from the venue and hotels is Captain Lawrence brewing. Best known for their Freshchester Pale Ale and other belgian style brews, they also make some funky seasonal stuff that you can try in either their indoor beer hall or outdoor beer garden, the latter of which is stocked with fun games like bocce and cornhole.
Known for its on-site farm-to-table restaurant, Blue Hill, the farm is a food and agriculture center, focused on education, tradition and sustainable farming techniques. It is adjacent to Rockefeller State Park and their walking trails connect.
1,400 acres donated by the Rockefeller family. Horseback riding, biking and walking trails connect to the Stone Barns property.
Lucky you! There are plenty of options in the area! -The Old Croton Aqueduct Trail runs straight through the Lyndhurst property and is open to the public. Beautiful river views. -If you're into history / architecture - check out several nearby Hudson Valley historic estates open to the public in addition to Lyndhurst, such as Kykuit (the former Rockefeller estate) and Sunnyside (Washington Irving's former home).
