Rebecca and Michael were introduced by their mutual friend, who was also Michael's roommate in summer 2018. The first time they met each other was at Michael's apartment. Rebecca was going to see her friend, and Michael was at home as well. At first Michael was reluctant to meet Rebecca because he did not want to start a relationship. He was busy with studying GMAT and applying to grad school. The first conversation was a bit awkward, the four of them(mutual friend and her boyfriend) sat together and threw out random topics for like 20 min. Michael barely talked and Rebecca didn't think they would even become friends. The story did not begin until a month later, when Michael invited Rebecca to his birthday lunch. They started talking and exchanged contact info. Rebecca invited Michael to come to her fellowship and church. They started hanging out and getting to know each other more and more. After a couple of months they decided to become boyfriend and girlfriend.

Michael decided to propose to Rebecca on Feb 1, 2020 at Lake Carolyn, Irving TX. Michael started planning everything at end of 2019 and did his best to keep it secret. He asked Rebecca to save the date because he wanted to take her to a beautiful lake. Rebecca was kind of surprised since she was usually the one looks for places to hang out, she felt like something special was going to happen. On that day, Michael took Rebecca to the lake cruise at Lake Carolyn. The weather was really nice with breeze. The cruise was beautiful and decorated with rose petals and red carpet. Michael started proposing all the sudden when Rebecca was laying back and relaxing. She was shocked ( but not a lot because she kind of sensed it before), and a bit awkward (because she caught the photographer was talking pictures of her). Overall she was so happy and touched by Michael's speech. And she said yes of course.
