Our Story

Our Story - Written by Ted Lech

October 17, 2021

Our Story A Beginning in Santa Fe It began, as the best things often do, by chance—and a walk through Cathedral Park in Santa Fe on an October afternoon. The aspens were turning gold, the air was gentle with possibility, and neither of us quite expected the conversation to last as long as it did. But it did, and it never really stopped. “We set out for coffee and found a life we didn’t know we were missing.” Adventures Together From that first afternoon came everything else: job changes and missed flights, lost breakfasts at the Vatican, and dinners found; love locks in London, Paris, Rome, Verona, and Florence; nights under Turkish stars, Venetian sunsets (and a few mosquitoes too determined to share them), and long quiet dinners at home in Santa Fe—the best meals of all. What We’ve Learned Through it all, we’ve discovered that adventure isn’t only found in faraway places. It lives in laughter after a wrong turn, in stories retold a hundred times, and in the quiet certainty that—wherever we are—we’re already home. About Us Ted A lifelong artist, storyteller and traveler, Ted has always believed that the best journeys begin with curiosity and a good cup of coffee. His work in public service keeps him rooted in the rhythms of New Mexico—helping people find their path, build their careers, and imagine new possibilities. He’s happiest with a notebook in one pocket, an espresso in the other, and a plane ticket somewhere between Santa Fe and Florence. Thoughtful, dry-witted, and occasionally overpacked, he’s learned that love, like travel, is best approached with a sense of wonder and a well-folded map. Rebecca Rebecca brings light and grace to every table she sits at—whether it’s in a café in Istanbul, a market in Rome, or their kitchen in Santa Fe. A travel writer and founder of Transformative Escapes, she sees the world as a tapestry of stories waiting to be shared. She has an eye for beauty, a heart for connection, and an uncanny ability to find the best meal in any city (often without Google Maps). To Ted, she’s the true north of every adventure—the calm in the storm, and the laughter that makes even a missed flight feel like fate.
