Arriving via Dublin Airport?

Dublin Airport is the largest airport on the Island of Ireland and is a major transportation hub. All major car rental agencies are present at Dublin Airport. Driving times to Dublin City ( 20mins), Galway (2hrs 30mins), Cork (3hrs), Belfast ( 1hr 35mins), Mulranny (3hrs 20mins). These can vary significantly due to traffic. N.B. If traveling to Belfast, non Irish guests now require a electronic visa to travel to Northern Ireland (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-when-you-can-get-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta). If travelling into Dublin City Centre, guests can take a taxi (€15-€30) , AirCoach (€10) or the 16 or 41 Dublin Bus Service(€4, need exact change and non direct). If Travelling to Galway, It is recommended to book the Citylink Bus beforehand as this is an express service (and quickest way) to Galway Coach Station. Guests could also take the train to Galway from Dublin Heuston Station but this is located 30mins away from the Airport by car. If traveling direct to Mulranny, It is recommended to take the Dublin Express bus to Heuston Station and take the train to Westport (https://www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/station/dublin-heuston). Upon arrival at Westport it is possible to take the Bus Eireann 450 Service to Mulranny (https://www.buseireann.ie/routes-and-timetables/450).

Arriving via Shannon Airport?

Shannon is located in close proximity to Limerick City on the West Coast of Ireland. Although much smaller than Dublin Airport there are flights available to JFK, Newark and Chicago. All major rental companies are present at Shannon Airport. Driving times to Shannon ( 30mins), Galway ( 1hr 4 min), Mulranny ( 2hr 20mins), Cork (1 hr 40mins), Dingle ( 2hr 30mins). If using public transport to travel to Galway, guests can take the Bus Eireann Expressway Service (https://www.expressway.ie/route/51/cork-to-galway-via-limerick)/2024-08-30). It is highly recommended to book in advance. Although possible, it is not recommended to travel to Shannon to Mulranny via public transport due to number of transfers and time (7+ hours).
