UPDATE: Covid-19 Restrictions

There are now no travel restrictions for coming to NZ. A pre-departure test is not required, but you must have up to date vaccine certificates, and fill out the passenger declaration form online BEFORE you travel.

Take the time to think about your preferences: three shorter-length flights with more stopovers; or fewer but longer flights (Becca's preference); or even taking a night or two in a new place somewhere in the middle (a luxury).

Travel Note

NZ Electronic Travel Authority

All non-citizens/residents travelling to NZ need to apply for a Travel Authority, this is very cheap and lasts two years, and essentially covers tourism costs such as upkeep of National Parks etc. Check the website for details and make sure this is done :)

Accommodation in Akaroa

We have accomodation available at our wedding venue. These are cosy well equipped cabins. Once we have RSVPs we will let you know what availability we have at the venue. There are also AirBnB options or local hotels close by.

Rental Car

Rent a car in Christchurch

You will need to hire a car for your time in New Zealand. We strongly recommend you get out of Christchurch for at least some of your trip. The South Island is spectacular and you will not want to miss the scenery that is available to you on this trip , and only a few hours drive away. Check out the "Things To Do" tab for some suggestions.

Christchurch is full of AirBnbs to rent for larger groups, or couples. Stay close to the city centre, or if you are looking to get out and explore stay nearer to the Port Hills, or in Cashmere for some amazing views of mountains and sea. We live on Bishop Street, St Albans, for context and if you'd like to be close to us.
