Nick and Becca met while Nick was tending bar at the North Country Brewpub with fellow bartender Tony during Covid. Becca and her best friend, Christen, went to the pub after a pre-birthday hike at McConnell's Mill. From the start, the four of them got along really well. Nick and Becca bonded over their love for hiking, books, and movies, and Nick claims that Becca was giving him "the eyes" all night. At the end of the night, Becca and Christen were about to leave, Tony wrote down Nick's number and stuffed it in Christen's purse. Tony knew that Nick wouldn't make any moves since he works at the university in town, so he knew this was the only way to make something happen. Thereafter, Christen texted Nick said that she would ask Becca if she wanted Nick to have her number, and after a while, she said yes. Christen then told Nick not to text her that night since she was a "runner" and scares easily. Nick said that he would wait until the next day because it was the perfect opportunity to break the ice and text her a "Happy Birthday" message. After they exchanged texts, Becca then made Nick wait two weeks until their first date at Christen's house for a bonfire, and the rest is history.

The proposal happened while the two of them were on a hike at Breakneck Falls in McConnell's Mill State Park. It was a day before their anniversary and two days before Becca's birthday. What Becca thought was going to be just another hike turned out to be the BEST hike they've had together. Nick planned the entire outing with his best man, Dan Thompson--who is also a former professional wedding photographer and was there to capture the whole moment.

Nick and Becca love travel and a great adventure, so they decided what better way to get married than to elope! Becca found two amazing photographers, Oli and Steph, that specialize in adventure elopements on the Isle of Skye in Scotland and fell in love with their work. They will be eloping with a small group of family and friends and will spend the day doing what they love most: exploring the great outdoors with each other.

They will be celebrating their marriage with their friends and family with a small reception at Becca's parents house.
