“We’re getting married!”

Officially we met when we both worked for Burger King back in summer 2018. Unofficially, we met that spring when he stole a dog away from me while my friend and I were petting it at school (it was his dog but still!)

On our 1 year anniversary, Matthew took me to Jaker’s for dinner before taking me on a long car trip through Blue Mountain and Kelly Island. He was stalling while our families set up the courtyard of our apartment with candles. When we got home, he blindfolded me and led me to a rock in the center of the candles while our song, Photograph by Ed Sheeran, played in the background. My puppy, Dylan, had my engagement ring tied to his collar. Matthew says he had a big speech planned but he was so nervous, even though he knew for a fact I would say yes, all he could get out was “will you marry me?” I was also so nervous in the moment I never truly said yes!! I just nodded while bawling my eyes out!!!
