On February 13th, we landed in Mexico City with two things on our minds: tacos and chilaquiles. But while Becca was fully focused on food and sightseeing, Marcus had a little something extra planned. We landed in CDMX at 11pm, and one of us (ahem, Marcus) thought it would be a great idea to book a sunrise hot air balloon ride over Teotihuacán for the next morning. Cue the 4am wake up call. In a dreamy, pre-dawn blur, in a corner suite with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sparkling city, Marcus got down on one knee. Becca, still half-asleep and absolutely not expecting a proposal before 5am, was caught completely off guard. Thankfully, a strong cup of café de olla helped her process the surprise... and with a very stunned (but very happy) “yes,” the day had officially begun.
