The first time I remember meeting Justin was on a Sunday night shortly after he started attending Franklin Road. I remember thinking, “Wow, that guy is very enthusiastic about life.” After that, I didn’t interact much with him, but saw him helping a lot in our Sunday school class. In 2021 he spoke to me sporadically and I thought he was going to ask me out for coffee… but he always walked away shortly after starting a conversation. He’d talk about my car, then walk away. Ask if I liked coffee, then walk away. I was fairly accustomed to these sudden start-stop conversations. Much to my surprise, one Wednesday night after church, he finally asked if I would get coffee with him. Our first date was Wednesday, December 3, 2022 at the Brass Horn. Over the past year I have gotten to know the sweet, thoughtful, hard working man Justin is. The wait seemed long, but God’s plan for us was perfect. I couldn’t ask for a better man to spend the rest of my life with!
When I first started going to Franklin Road Baptist Church, I was hoping that God would bring someone special into my life. After a couple years and complete disaster at the dating game, two of my friends recommended that I should ask Beckie out. (Thanks, Ben & Hannah) I had noticed Beckie a couple times and had talked to her a little. She seemed sweet. So I got my courage up one Sunday night and went to talk to her. With my natural suaveness, I asked if she liked coffee. She replied that she did and I calmly bolted from the scene. Another year goes by, and two of my best friends told me I should actually ask her out. (Thanks again, Jordan & Brittany) I got my courage up and asked her out for coffee on November 30, 2022. Much to my surprise, she said yes. A few days later on December 3rd, we went on our first date. After an “eternal” separation for her Christmas break and several subsequent dates, I asked her to be my girlfriend on February 11. We dated throughout the spring and summer. I knew beyond any doubt that I wanted to marry her. While she was gone on her family vacation, I went to a local jewelry store and found the perfect diamond and ring to match. A month later, I was calling her Dad to ask for his blessing. On August 26th, I took Beckie to an escape room to celebrate completing her Master’s program. As the final key to the puzzle, I pulled the ring out and proposed. She’s made me the happiest man alive and I can’t wait to marry her.
