We met at BYU. Our first date was getting lunch at the Taco Bell in the Cougar Eat and walking around the campus art museum. Jose would always sneak into my practice room to listen to me play cello and, I'll be honest, I didn't get a lot of practicing done that first month! Some of our favorite things include: Cafe Rio, singing really loud in the car, playing board games, drawing, dancing like dorks, and, most of all, spending time with each other. One of our most special memories is being in Paris together. We had both signed up for separate study abroad trips before we knew each other. After we met, we found out that we would be in Paris at the same time. It was incredible to be able to experience that together and we look forward to many years of adventures and travel!
Jose had taken me up to American Fork Canyon a couple days before to do the same hike. He claimed that he was scoping out the landscape for Anna's (his sister) photography project. This time, we were supposed to bring nice clothes to get our pictures taken by Anna. We hiked about 6 miles round trip. All my makeup had melted off my face and my hair was crazy, but it was gorgeous at the top; there was a great view of the city and a huge waterfall. We changed into our fancier clothes for the "photoshoot," and started posing. Then, he got down on one knee and popped the question!
