In January 2014 Jordan and Rebecca were set up on a blind double date by their friends Lauren and Scott. Rebecca and Lauren thought Scott was kidding when he wanted to set her up with “his tallest friend.” Standing at 5’1 Rebecca thought it would be a little awkward, but he looked cute in his profile picture so she said why not. Scott told Jordan that Rebecca was also a twin and “just his type”, so he decided he was up for the date. They all met at Middlebranch on a Thursday night and there wasn’t a second of awkwardness. Lauren and Scott eventually left the bar early to give Rebecca and Jordan some time alone. They ordered two Square Meal cocktails and never looked back. Almost 4 years later Rebecca and Jordan are so excited to be starting this next chapter of their lives with all of their friends and family by their side.
Rebecca and I often find ourselves along the same small park on Sutton Place. We carve out a bench for ourselves and share small moments; watching the boats pass along the East River, throwing competitive snowball fights, or taking quiet relaxing breaks together. Across all of our travels and experiences, there was only one place to propose to a New York girl. It had to be in her home city, in the spot that had been a reminder of the great place we get to live, and the city where we met and had so many firsts together. New York has defined so many aspects of our relationship. Staring out at the 59th street bridge, August 15th was a perfectly clear day, which had been stormy only hours earlier, I was able to convince Rebecca to join me in a walk to the water, where both of our twin sisters were hiding with cameras ready to capture the moment. It was there that I asked Rebecca to marry me, and received a resounding "of course!" Now we have another moment we will never forget, to add to our spot along Sutton Place.
