It all started with bar trivia, fantasy football and a softball league. John & Becca's relationship is the classic tale of two people meeting through their friends, and falling in love. Groomsman Eric, who met John in the second grade, would later meet Becca along with the rest of the CPK crew (which included MoH Kim and Groomsman Seth) while working at California Pizza Kitchen. Eric would then invite the CPK crew to bar trivia with some of his other friends, which included Best Man Matt, Groomsman Basa (also a Matt) and Becca's future husband, John. Finally, the two groups of friends would join together to become the greatest crime fighting team ever assemb- Wait... wrong story... Where were we? Ah yes, this new group of friends would end up creating a Fantasy Football League of epic proportions. Over the next few years, John and Becca would become mildly obsessed with this fantasy football league, along with a show about the same subject matter. "The League" would provide John with his everlasting nickname, Taco. In addition to playing fantasy football, they also played a few seasons of beer league softball, which helped bring them even closer together. After flirting back and forth, John and Becca met at a Starbucks for coffee. This lead to their first date on March 4, 2016 at Granite City in Naperville, where they proceeded to hog a table until they closed. Over the next 6 and a half years, they would bond over the Cubs World Series run, fantasy football, boy band love and of course, gaming. They would also become known to their friends as "The Tacos" (credit to Bridesmaid Jessica). On September 23, 2022, John and Becca went on a camping trip to "their spot" at Shabona Lake State Park, where they would take part in their yearly tradition to visit Jonomac Apple Orchard and grab some fried cajun potato salad at Fatty's Pub in Dekalb. Later that evening, while sitting next to the passionately burning campfire, Becca mused about how happy she was at that very moment when the following words were exchanged: Becca: It's so peaceful, the crackling fire and everything. John: And we have s'mores. Becca: *laughs* Well, yes, of course s'mores. John: Well how about s'more of us? John bent down on one knee and proposed to Becca in front of the campfire. Of course she said yes, and less than 24 hours later, was already planning for the big day. Which brings us here. Becca and John cannot wait to celebrate their special day with all of you!!!
