Once upon a time, on June 27, 2022 Rebecca and Jo met for their first date in a random little town. They were both looking forward to this date as they had both been searching for “the one”. Their first day was out of a movie. They met for a quick coffee date which ended up being a 6 hour adventure. They walked by the river for about 2 hrs. They were caught by a sudden rain storm. They had to run to shelter! They were stuck under a tree, completely soaked! (They had the perfect moment for their first kiss! But Jo being the gentleman he is… did not go for it, he didn’t want to rush her but they both wanted that kiss) Once the storm passed they walked some more… slowly becoming more and more hooked as they shared their goals and dreams. They kept making excuses to not end their date. They had dinner and then continued to walk! Eventually they had to say their goodbyes and shared one small kiss. Their second date was quickly scheduled. Jo invited Rebecca to visit the farm he was living in with his brother Woldy in Cayuga. Of course, Rebecca agreed. About 4 days later Rebecca was making crepes at 5:00 am in her little apartment where she lived with Arzo in st Catherine’s, to drive over an hour and meet Jo at the farm for 8:00 am. Again, their second date, just perfection. Jo showed her the pigs, the fields, the scenery, drove her around in a golf cart and carried her on his back through a tall field of wild flowers. A couple weeks later Jo was asking her to be his girlfriend. Rebecca was smitten and immediately said yes. In March of 2023 they found out they were expecting their first baby! Overwhelmed and excited and very very nervous, they agreed to move in together and embark on their journey to parenthood. Klaus was born in December 2023. This little boy made them fall more and more in love with each other. December of 2024 was another special month. They were excited to learn that a new baby would be joining their family and Jo proposed to Rebecca on Christmas Eve! No questions asked, Rebecca said yes! Otto was born August 2025 and their lives became even more complete. They watched Klaus become a beautiful big brother and Otto just the sweetest younger brother. Now with Rebecca being a bit stubborn, she refused to call Jo her husband because they were not married. Despite Jo arguing that she was his wife and had become his wife pretty much since day one, Rebecca would not budge. This led to a conversation about marriage and wedding dates. Suddenly they were getting their marriage license and booking their marriage ceremony. Rebecca and Jo eloped on December 2nd, 2025. They secretly planned a small tiny ceremony in 2 weeks. They reached out to their only witnesses, Lina, Taylor and James to join them on this date. There was something exciting about keeping this a secret. This day was sweet and perfect. Their local coffee shop owner, Whitney saved the day by being their photographer (Rebecca called her 2 hrs before the ceremony because the photographer they had booked cancelled last minute!). Despite this date being perfect they felt that their wedding wasn’t complete without celebrating their union with their family and close friends. So here we are, getting ready to celebrate with each and everyone one of you on May 30th, 2026! We look forward to dancing, laughing and celebrating our little family and union with you!!!
