Her Story: From the day I met Hughston, he has accepted me as I am. What started with being safety partners for CPS and confidants, turned into building this life with one another. When I thought I had run out of luck in life and love, he showed me that I was good enough and worthy. Hugh has loved me unconditionally at all of my moments. Without a second thought, he accepted me as a single mother and loved my daughter as his own. Not only has he showed up for me, but he has also shown up for her. He makes us laugh every day, and never lets us forget how loved we are by him. He lifted me up when I felt weak and encouraged me to keep going each and every day. I couldn’t have prayed for a better husband, life partner, and father for my children. I cannot wait to see where this next journey takes us. Huey, I love you so much. Each day a little bit more. Thank you for loving me, for loving Ava, and for building this beautiful life with us. His Story: I remember the first time Miss Becca and I met one another. A co-worker had hollered my name to come and meet the other employee. I remember at that moment, for whatever reason, I was very drawn to Becca. At this time, we had different personal lives, so a friendship was built. I would often go to Becca for advice and I would always receive straightforward, kind, and helpful advice. Becca has incredible way of telling the hard truth in a loving and respectful way. So, for months, we would text one another, building our bond. Then weeks before COVID-19 shut everything down, I started to feel a very strong pull towards Becca. I can not explain it, but I had simply wanted to always be around her. I would hang out in her cubicle, sit next to her during weekly meetings, and we would always walk to our cars together after work. At the time I did not know why I was feeling such a strong pull, but today it all makes perfect sense. Fast forward to now, I have learned that Becca is everything I have ever desired in a partner. Becca has loved my quirkiness and imperfections. Becca has encouraged me to be a better version of myself. Becca has help me realize that being a bonus father is something I never knew I needed. I have often chased happiness, hoping happiness would be in the next town, next job, the next whatever. Becca has helped me learn that happiness is in your home.
