Rebecca and Gabe technically met way back in 2014 at Topgolf. Gabe’s brother-in-law was the first to notice Rebecca and famously said, “Duuuude, look at her.” (A real Shakespearean moment.) Rebecca didn’t think much of Gabe at the time—she was dating someone else—but over the years, they bumped into each other enough to become friends. Even then, Gabe was suspiciously polite. He’d open Rebecca’s car door, walk her to her car, and make sure she got home safe—basically auditioning for “Nicest Guy Ever” without even realizing it. Eventually, Rebecca started to take notice. In September 2017, fate (and football) stepped in. Both happened to be at a Buccaneers game when a mutual friend texted Gabe to say Rebecca was there too. Gabe sent her a message out of the blue—“Wait… I’m here too!”—and even though she was already leaving the stadium, he ran all the way around just to say hi and ask if she wanted to hang out. (Yes, he sprinted around a football stadium. That’s dedication.) A few weeks later, they had their first date at the most iconic of locations: Waffle House after church. From that day on, Gabe made it his mission to see Rebecca basically every single day—and she didn’t mind one bit. Things just clicked. Since then, their story has been full of laughter, love, and late-night waffle runs. Gabe loves how deeply Rebecca cares about everyone in her life (especially him), and Rebecca loves Gabe’s goofiness, big heart, and the way he gives his all—every single day.
