We met the old fashioned way -- online! We matched online in April 2017 and talked for two months before finally meeting in person for the first time in June. Erin flew out to Minneapolis to spend Pride weekend with Becks, and it could either go really bad or really well...we think it went pretty well!
For the first year and four months we did long distance. Countless flights back and forth from Chicago to Minneapolis, thousands of miles driven to meet in the middle, hundreds of hours of FaceTime calls, and so many other adventures that brought us together. In August 2018, Becks made the move out to Chicagoland so that we could start our life together in the same place. Living together was a huge growing experience - Becks had to woo the cat...she's a jealous thing, and Becks stole a lot of her attention from Erin, we had to learn how to fit two girls' clothes in the one small closet we had, and find a balance between our life as a couple and our life as individuals. It's been a great adventure thus far that only keeps getting better!
We had our first date walking on the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, we've hiked Arches National Park (twice), and Erin proposed under the arch bridge waterfall at Matthiessen State Park - the perfect surprise! Becks had no idea it was coming and it was the most beautiful day. Our friends helped plan the surprise and we couldn't have asked for anything better.
Just as Erin's proposal was near an arch bridge, Becks proposed on the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis where we had our first date. It was a chilly, late November day and Becks had accidentally spoiled it was happening that week, but it was just as much a surprise and amazing to come full circle. First date to proposal in the same spot!
