Her Story - The Proposal

I love the way my fiancé proposed to me, even though I was not very surprised! On April 13, 2019, we decided to take a walk at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown, Maryland. While walking in the mall he suggested that we look at some jewelry. We went into the jewelry store and he asked me to pick out a ring that I love. We looked at several rings after which he suggested we get a Princess cut diamond and I agreed. The store did not have my size and so he promised to return to the store and get it after it was sized. About a month later he suggested that we go to a lake after church. After eating lunch at his place, we packed some picnic gears in the car. We were just about to leave when he said, " I forgot something." then he went back in the house. I sat in the car and started to think, "what in the world did he forget.?" When he got back to the car he said "we are all set." He did not have any big items in his hands, so I figured whatever he went back for was small enough to fit in his coat pocket. At that moment I knew it was the ring. We got to the Rocky Gap state park lake in Flintstone, Maryland on June 8th and picked a perfect spot under a tree to stand. He then sneakily pulled out a jewel box out of his coat pocket got down on one his knees and asked me to marry him. I said yes! It was about 5:30pm that evening and the sun was setting so we quickly headed back to the Panera Bread restaurant in Frederick, where we met my children and gave them the news.

His Story - The Proposal

Rebecca and I got engaged June 8, 2019. My original plan was to be engaged on the 7th. The reason why we didn't was she flew in from Oklahoma that Friday evening and by the time she got home she was too tired. I had everything planned. A romantic dinner at my place. I was gonna get down on one knee and pop the question. Now I was in panic mode. I needed a plan B. I always believe that you need a contingency plan for your contingency plan. So that Saturday morning, I went and picked her up for church then we came back to my place for lunch. From there we went to Rocky Gap State Park. I almost forgot to take the ring with me. I had never been there before. The day couldn't have been any better. The weather was beautiful just like my future wife to be. She had on a lovely blue and white dress. When we got there I was like "yes" this place is perfect. There was a beach, golf course, casino, and resort. We went to the beach and laid a blanket down under a tree and I was trying to find the perfect timing on popping the question without making it obvious. I finally slipped the ring out and ask the biggest question in my life. Rebecca I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me? And my life changed forever when she said yes. Now I'm the happiest man on the planet with the most beautiful woman in the world.
