We met initially at Waterstreet Landing Restaurant in Lewiston. Becca was out to dinner celebrating her friend Madison's 21st birthday. Becca went up to Ben who was working at the time, and asked if he would take a group picture for her and her friends. Ben asked Becca if her and her friends would be going to a bar afterwards to continue the celebration, and it just so happened to be Tap Room in Niagara Falls where Ben and his friends were also going. Later that evening, the two of us met up at the bar talking for hours exchanging phone numbers. Becca then returned back to Rochester for the summer and we spent many nights on FaceTime getting to know one another and eventually began dating on September 9th, 2016 once Becca returned back to the area for senior year.

Years prior Becca had told Ben that the "flat rocks" area by the whirlpool at the gorge is her favorite place, Ben knew from that moment it was where he wanted to ask her to spend the rest of his life with him. It was 2 days before the 4th year anniversary of meeting each other. Ben had it planned he would propose on April 30th due to it's significance, however, the weather that day was less than desirable. So on a whim he picked the 2 days before, April 28th, for the special moment. That morning Ben woke up Becca with breakfast in bed, and clued her in that they would be taking a gorge hike seeing Becca had been asking him for awhile to go. They got ready and headed down. Little did Becca know Ben's best friends Pat and Adam were already down waiting, knowing exactly where to go thanks to Ben's detailed word document of plans. Becca does what she always does and immediately sits down next to the water. Ben then goes over to Becca saying "I have brought you to your favorite spot on earth, and now I have a question for you." Ben helps Becca up and when she turns around Ben is down on one knee holding the most beautiful engagement ring and asks her if she would be his wife, of course Becca saying "YES!" Moments later Pat and Adam come running over from behind a boulder in the distance and were able to capture photos from the entire proposal. We hiked back to the top together and popped a bottle of champagne that was waiting for us from Brandon, Ben's best friend. It was definitely a moment the two will never forget.
