Our story began early in 2024 and after a little matchmaking, Josh and I met on February 13! My sister, Hannah, attended a bridal shower for Josh's cousin, Kayley, and Josh's mother, Deborah, also was in attendance. They got to talking (and matchmaking), discovering both Josh and I were single. I had not gone on a date in six months, so when Hannah texted me about this new guy, I said "yeah, you can give him my number, why not?" Josh and I texted each other and promptly set up a dinner date at Rodeo Goat over near where I live in Dallas. Josh being so kind and wonderful drove two hours to meet me on a Tuesday night the day before Valentine's Day! We had our date that night and have not stopped dating since! We have maintained our "medium distance" relationship driving back and forth between Longview and the Dallas area. I have grown to love Longview and will be moving there in July to start our married life together! Josh and I love to spend time trying out new restaurants, playing pickleball, going to the movies, watching shows together, and playing games. We also have spent a lot of time connecting with loved ones in each of our lives: those in Dallas, Longview, and Houston. Josh used these personal connections with my friends and family to mastermind his plan to propose to me. I was unaware of his plan that had been going on for months that many of my loved ones knew about. Josh and I went with a few friends for a weekend at my friends' lakehouse on July 19, 2025. After coming back from a trip to the grocery store, I was surprised to see Josh standing out on the boat dock all dressed up! I knew then what was happening. I met him out on the dock and excitedly said yes to becoming his wife! From that day at the lake to July 11 and beyond, I am grateful for God's blessings and guidance as Josh and I continue to live everyday in love. I am also grateful for all the support from the people in our life, both friends and family. We love y'all!
