Noah and I officially met at two of our mutual best friends’ wedding (shoutout to the Harritans!). For those who don’t know, Lilly and I have been best friends since elementary school and through middle school, high school, and college. Her husband, Hunter, and Noah both played baseball at Carson-Newman, and Lilly spent years driving to Tennessee for games by herself. We joke now that we could have been making that drive together! Noah and I happened to connect a few months before their wedding last year, talked on the phone for months… and when the weekend finally arrived, I realized I was going to have to make the first move. I walked right up to him and said, “Hey stranger!”- and the rest is history. Five days later (yes, five), I somehow convinced Noah to hop on a plane and join my family and me in Arizona and Las Vegas. Huge leap of faith on his part - meeting me at the Charlotte airport and flying cross-country with someone he’d barely seen in person. I told everyone it could go one of two ways: really great, or we would never see each other again once we boarded our separate flights home. Spoiler alert: it went really great. We had our first official date at Top of the World overlooking the Vegas Strip and made a million unforgettable memories on that trip. Fast forward ten months, and Noah proposed on October 3rd. Fast forward another thirteen months and eleven days, we’ll be married, surrounded by our favorite people. Proof that sometimes taking a leap of faith (and booking the flight) is totally worth it.
