Matron of Honor
Reagan and Kendall have been in each other’s lives for many major events. Birthdays, holidays, the first day of school, moving into a college dorm, the first apartment, and so many more firsts because Kendall is her younger sister. Within the first year of moving to Georgia, Akin comes into their lives, and soon after, exciting things happen. Kendall was often the tag along to the coffee shop, library, movies, and so on, but what an opportunity to get to know the amazing young man who is becoming her brother. The relationship has grown into a real sibling love throughout the last fourteen years, and Kendall is so honored to have the privilege of standing beside Reagan and Akin on their wedding day.
Best Man
Matt and Akin first met in Ms. Turner’s 9th grade AP Human Geography class. Bonding over a shared love of TV and movies, they would FaceTime for hours, Akin watching shows remotely through Matt’s grainy iPad camera (old-school screensharing pre-Zoom). As college roommates at Georgia Tech, they began their careers as budding chefs, grocery shopping and experimenting with new recipes for their meals for the week. When one hit a wall on an assignment, the other was happy to take a break to watch an episode (or three) of whichever show they were working their way through. Last year, Matt and Akin got the chance to live together during his last year of med school, where they spent their days with Akin filling out residency applications on the couch while Matt worked from home at the desk behind him. A story of TV classics and card games, Matt and Akin have been by each other’s side for 13 years, with many more to come.
Bridesmaid
Janelle and Reagan met as students in the Public Policy program at Georgia Tech, and Janelle was fortunate enough to room with the fabulous Bride while they were there. Though life has kept the two living in different cities from then on, they have been able to maintain a lovely friendship with some help from their love for dissecting pop culture and sharing an occasional hot take with each other. All along the way, witnessing Reagan’s enduring love story with Akin has been a true treasure for Janelle, and she is beyond elated to stand by her side on this special day!
Groomsman
David and Akin met at Emory University School of Medicine in 2018. They became close friends during their first year of medical school and were roommates from 2020 until graduation in 2023. David and Akin studied together, watched endless TV together, explored Atlanta together, traveled the country together, & they confided in each other. Akin supported both David & his wife Michelle through the ups and downs of medical school and their growth as a couple. He has been a rock for David, and he will be a lifelong friend. David was honored to have him as a member of his wedding party in May of 2023 and now feels doubly honored to be a member of Akin’s wedding party.
Bridesmaid
Reagan and Kelly met soon after Kelly moved to the DC area and immediately bonded over numerous shared and increasingly specific interests and observations. Many book discussions, after work debriefs over tea, and nature walks later, Kelly is beyond excited to stand with Reagan and Akin on their special day. Kelly is looking forward to celebrating her friend’s happily ever after with such a wonderful and caring partner, and exploring Akin’s new second home of Baltimore.
Groomsman
Akin and Brennan have known each other since elementary school so there are few memories during those formative years Brennan has without Akin around. Ever since then they have reminded friends and been there during important life events and without a doubt Brennan knows Akin has chosen a perfect life partner for himself.
Bridesmaid
Neeki and Reagan met in the summer of 2014 while looking for a freshman year roommate at Georgia Tech. Even though they did not end up rooming together, Neeki told Reagan they would be friends, and she was right as always. Both Type-A earth signs (Reagan is a Virgo and Neeki is a Capricorn), they love pampering sleepovers and have a compulsive need to debrief the most minor happenings. Neeki is so lucky to have a friend as generous, hardworking, and gracious as Reagan, and is honored to stand by Reagan and Akin as they (finally) take this next step in their relationship!

Across many oceans and much land, Samarthya traveled, and upon arriving in the state of Georgia he stayed for some time, where at a young age he made four friends whose lives were forever intertwined. Akin, Brennan, Kyle, Matt; many adventures were had, through thick and thin, these boys turned men, and whilst geography now separates them, these bonds will never be broken. Blessed with new companions we travel far and wide; as we follow separate paths, one thing is certain: none shall forget the friendship of the five.
Bridesmaid
Reagan and Shekinah met during Reagan's second year at Georgia Tech in a constitutional law class. Bonding over their love of learning and solidarity in being one of the few Black women in their program, the study buddies forged a lasting friendship that carried them through college. Over the years, that friendship has blossomed into a sisterhood full of fun and laughter, support and encouragement, and love. Shekinah is deeply grateful to stand by Reagan on her special day and to celebrate her and Akin's union. Reagan and Akin have been blessed to find the extraordinary partners they have found in each other. Shekinah looks forward to a continuous celebration of Reagan and Akin's love and many more life adventures with them in D.C.!
Groomsman
Akin and Kyle met around 20 years ago, meaning they have known each other for the vast majority of their lives. They have been together during some of the best times (wasting away weekends playing video games with Samarthya, Brennan, and Matt), during some of the worst times (burning up in the South Georgia sun during marching band practice), and during some of the most socially awkward and cringy times of their lives (middle school). Through it all, their friendship endured. Kyle witnessed the start of Akin and Reagan’s relationship saw the spark in Akin’s eyes when he looked at her and knew it was only a matter of time. He is so happy for them both and ecstatic to finally be there for them on their wedding day!
Bridesman
Zack and Reagan met in their 10th-grade Spanish class, but their friendship has long surpassed their 5th-period class & bus rides home. They quickly bonded over music, politics, and a mutual interest in exploring beyond Lee County! Their adventures have included exploring Atlanta (Akin included), volunteering, attending campaign events, and enjoying live shows together. Zack is honored to keep a longtime promise of joining Reagan and Akin in witnessing their union & life adventures beyond!
Groomsman
Victor and Akin met in medical school where they were assigned to the same Small Group. In Atlanta, they regularly got together to watch Survivor, The Bachelor, and play board games. While they were both known as “the quiet ones” of the friend group, they bonded on their many adventures. They partied at Music Midtown, Nashville, and Six Flags. Recently, they had a memorable reunion in Boston when Akin visited and tried all the classic New England snacks.
