From Danielle's Point of View: Bradley scored some last minute tickets to a New Year's Eve Party at the Paris hotel while he was in Las Vegas. It happened to be the same party I was dancing it up at with my family; swing dancing ourselves into 2020! It was nearing midnight and my family and I were heading outside to see the count down and fireworks; but before I left the room, this handsome gentleman approached me with a smooth line about my swing dancing. He asked if I could show him how to swing like me. Of course I wanted to, but being the family girl I am, I told him it would have to be after the fireworks and to meet me back on the dance floor afterwards. I caught up with my family and they turned to me and said, "What are you doing here? That handsome guy was interested in you"! That still cracks me up. Anyways, I come back to the ballroom where the party was held, just to find the dance floor empty and the employees cleaning up... sad. I turned to my sister, Laura, and said, "Awe man, I missed him". We grabbed our purses and walked out. My disappointed frown shot into a huge smile when I saw Mister Bradley was waiting in the hallway for me! He said I owed him a dance and I told him my favorite piano bar was around the corner. We got our dancing in and had a blast in each others' company; Just the beginning of our love story.
From Brad's Point of View: This was quite the challenge coordinating because Danielle was moving to Illinois at the end of May, starting her new job June 2nd, and I was starting my month long World Series of Poker Trip June 3rd. I had this vision in my head for a long time for a Vegas proposal since that's where we first met and where we spend our anniversaries. The logistics were becoming a bit difficult to figure out. I pushed the move date up a few days pretending that the moving company changed the date on us. I flew down to Florida early to start the packing and moving process, then we arrived in Illinois May 30th only to immediately fly out to Vegas the very next day. I pushed this "impromptu" trip claiming I had a free reward that was about to expire topped with the fact that we just needed one last hurrah in our favorite city before she started her new job and lifestyle changes. It would have to be a quick 2 day trip to get her back to start the new job on time, which she agreed and we headed for Vegas the next morning of the 31st. Now I had another challenge on my hand. The proposal tour I set up didn't start until 10pm that night and we generally like to enjoy ourselves with a few extra adult beverages on our Vegas trips, but I had to make sure we stayed on the right path so we could fully remember the evening that I had planned. I kept diverting all the fun stuff and made excuses to prevent the drinks from flowing too freely without spoiling anything. We spent most of the day at the pool, roaming around the Las Vegas strip, and going out for a fantastic sushi dinner, then the limo picked us up around 9. This entire night was all still a surprise for Danielle. I had only explained things as a surprise date night, so she had no idea the plans. Then we arrived at the helicopter pad. Now I told her what the "date night" was, but still no spoils of the real finale to come. I'm fairly certain she still had no idea because I had told her I still needed to get approval from her father, but in reality I had already flown down to Florida a few weeks earlier and received Don's blessing. As we flew over our exact meeting spot almost 3 years earlier above the Bellagio fountains and Paris Hotel, I pulled the ring out inside the helicopter and asked her to marry me. She said yes and we landed to a photographer recapture of the special moment in front of our helicopter followed by a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us in our own private room. The rest of the night was filled with Danielle's giant smile glowing everywhere. It was all just perfect!
