We met online initially and after nearly 2 years of talking off and on we made the jump to finally meet in person. November 20, 2011 Kayla went to have dinner with Jacob and his family. Not only did she meet Jacob for the first time but she also met his entire family and friend group that same day as well. Jacob was visiting home from college for Thanksgiving break for 10 days and after meeting they spent 7 out of those 10 days together. The rest is history! They have been together ever since that day and officially became boyfriend and girlfriend on December 4, 2011.

We went to go celebrate New Years with some close friends in Dallas. We spent the evening having a few drinks and playing board games. When it came close to midnight we all got our little party poppers ready to bring in the new year. The clocked turned to 12:00 AM January 1, 2018 and we all set off our little poppers and cheered to the new year. Jacob then got down on one knee and asked Kayla to marry him. Of course she said yes!

The place we are getting married at is a place Jacob grew up going to. His family owns the land and he went there often as a child to go fishing and hunting. A couple of months into the relationship we went out there to have a little picnic date. Jacob made a comment about going back out there IF they got married someday to walk around and reminisce about their memories made there, to which Kayla replied "you mean WHEN we get married someday." We just smiled and laughed about it at the time but here we are nearly 7 years later planning our wedding at the place we had that date and that conversation all those years ago.
