Kevin and I met in our senior year of college at East Carolina University (Go pirates!) through one of my best friends and now bridesmaid, Lindsay, and one of Kevin's fraternity brothers Daniel. I had known Kevin throughout college because we hung around most of the same people but never would I have guessed that 6 years from then we would be getting married. Senior year just happened to be perfect timing and some how Kevin just kept coming over to our house to "watch Breaking Bad." Eventually we went on our first date and the rest is history. We've made it through over 2 years of long distance, raising a puppy while a part, moving multiple times, new jobs and so much more. We are so excited for this next step in our lives and are even more excited to have all of our friends and family here to celebrate with us.
Kevin had gotten us tickets to go see the Panthers vs. Redskins game in D.C. so we just decided to make a long weekend it out of it since the game wasn't until Sunday. Little did I know, Kevin had bigger plans. We drove up to Richmond on Wednesday evening so we could drop Molly with my parents for the weekend and stay the night to split up our drive. The next day we headed into D.C.! We checked into our hotel, ate some lunch and then did a little exploring. Kevin had made us dinner reservations for that evening so we got ready and by that I mean I got ready while Kevin napped. Dinner was great, everything was normal, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves and then all of the sudden Kevin was down on one knee and I was at a loss for words. I honestly asked him if he was serious to which he replied "uhhh YEAH!" It was perfect. Totally unexpected and by far the best surprise I could ever get.
