We're getting married!

Sasha and Austin were brought together by the power of dating app prompts, and one message on Hinge about Austin having a pool...led to another... Next thing you know, the two had their first date in the summer of 2023 at Mia Bella Trattoria in Houston. It was the night before a Houston rainstorm (so typical) and the two lovebirds couldn't stop chatting despite the winds blowing around chairs outside! Neither of them could wait to meet again, so over the next few months, they would meet up at various restaurants and Houston sightseeing spots to continue their conversations, eat snails, paint art, and oh yeah... use Austin's pool! Things got serious quickly, and one day, in the Kinder Building of the Museum of Fine Arts, Austin asked Sasha to be his girlfriend! The two are still inseparable, finding joy in each other's company and laughing about anything and everything together. The rest is history!

One of Sasha's cousins was getting married in late December 2024 in Noida, India, a suburb of New Delhi. The ENTIRE Asthana family had prepped and planned for an entire year to make this a trip of a lifetime! Of course, Austin had plans to make the trip extra special. With it being the first time in India, the couple were planning some sightseeing to do outside of the grand wedding of her cousin. Austin REALLY wanted to go to Lodhi Gardens, and kept emphasizing that as the only place he really wants to visit...and Sasha was definitely suspicious. What she didn't expect was the proposal to happen not at Lodhi Gardens but at her late grandmother's house the day after arrival! Despite being surrounded by family with a warm welcome after their arrival, Sasha noticed one by one every family member leaving the house that morning. A little bummed, she decided to give Austin a tour of her grandmother's garden, when he pulled out the ring. In the privacy and comfort of her garden, surrounded by memories and marigolds, Austin asked Sasha to marry him. Easiest yes ever! The two newly engaged couple then enjoyed the company of family, loved ones, and each other for the rest of the trip...and for the rest of their lives!
