The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.
The ceremony and reception are at the same venue. The ceremony will be outside and the reception will be indoors. There is a porch at the entrance of the reception area that can be utilized to guests if they want to enjoy the weather outside during the cocktail hour/reception.
Generally during the beginning of October in upstate New York it can be on the cooler side since it will be fall time, but sometimes it can also feel more like summer. It might be best to bring a light jacket, especially for the ceremony part to make sure you are comfortable throughout the wedding. We would recommend to check the weather a few days before the wedding to get a better idea of what the weather will be like the day of the wedding.
After the ceremony, we will be taking pictures with our wedding party and family nearby for around an hour. Guests who are not participating in pictures can head straight to the reception hall where cocktail hour will begin.
There will be a rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding but only select guests will be invited to that. There will be an after party at the nightclub at the Turning Stone Casino after the reception is over that all guests are invited to!
You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
The address to the venue is on the "Schedule" tab of our wedding page! You can always put this into your smart phone or if you need other directions, please let one of us know (except for on the day of the wedding. We both will be very busy and will not have time to talk with others before).
The ceremony starts at 5:30pm. We recommend that you arrive anywhere between 5pm to 5:15pm. The closer to 5pm the better. We want to make sure we can start the ceremony on time so we can get to the rest of the party as scheduled!
The venue has a large parking lot on site which is free! Anywhere in the parking lot would suffice but if you park on the left side (if you're looking at the venue from the road), that is closer to the ceremony location!
If you are staying at the Turning Stone Casino, La Quinta Inn & Suites or the Fairfield Inn & Suites there will be a shuttle service to take you from the reception back to the hotel. You will need to either Uber or drive yourself to the reception. You will be able to leave your cars overnight in the parking lot and will be able to pick them up the next morning but there will be NO shuttle service to the venue. The shuttles will be available to anyone staying at the hotels listed previously but only from the venue back to the hotel. You will have to find a way to get to the venue. The Coachway Motel (which is listed on our "Travel" page) is right next to the venue. If you stay here, you can just walk to and from the venue!
We don't have a hotel block for the guests. Under our "Travel" page on our website lists hotels in the area near the venue. This page has the address and phone number to contact whichever hotel you prefer to stay in. The venue will shuttle to all the hotel options other than the Coachway Motel which is in walking distance. We recommend staying at the Turning Stone Casino if you are coming from out of town and have never been there before. It is a very nice Casino & Hotel and our after party will be held at the nightclub in there as well! If you would like to join us for the after party, you should book your hotel room at the Turning Stone.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event (other than select kids who are in the wedding) so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
The RSVP deadline is August 15th. You can either mail in your RSVP or can do it through the website. Either is fine as long as you RSVP. Please make sure you RSVP in a timely manner or you will not be able to participate in any of the events the day of the wedding.
Yes! Both locations are wheelchair accessible.
Yes. Right after the ceremony, guests will be able to go inside the venue to enjoy a cocktail hour with an open bar and appetizers. During the reception, the open bar will continue and there will be food served buffet style (there will be menu cards sent out with invitations and at the table the day of the wedding). There will also be a late night station of pizza served towards the end of the reception.
Yes to all of the above! When the wedding invitations get sent out, please mark any dietary needs on it so that we can inform the venue. Also, if you are one of the very few kids invited, please also mark down a kids meal too. Those will also be provided if applicable.
Yes! There will be an open bar during the reception. The open bar lasts for 6 hours. You can order anything from water, soda, mixed drinks, wine, beer, sangria, etc. You will NOT be able to take any hard liquor (shots, alcohol on the rocks. etc). Do not order any shots because you will not be served. Mix drinks only please! Also, please DO NOT bring in any alcohol of your own including nips, flasks, bottles, etc. Alcohol will be provided throughout the entire night and if you are caught bringing in your own alcohol the staff at the venue will ask you to leave and you could shut down the bar service for the rest of the guests. If you are the reason the bar service gets shutdown you will have a VERY unhappy Joe and Lindsay and will make most of the other guests invited unhappy as well. Please don't be an A-hole :)
Please visit the "Registry" tab of our website to see where we are registered!
If you would like to take flowers home, that would be fine. The centerpieces and candles will be rented so guests will not be able to take those home. Please let us know if you would like to take flowers home though. There will also be a photobooth at the venue where you can take pictures all night and take home the photos that are printed!
Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #readytobearucco so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
If you have any additional questions, you can reach out to either of us via text or phone call! The only request we make is DO NOT try and reach us on the day of the wedding. We will be very busy and will not have time to answer any phone calls. If you still have questions the day of the wedding, we are sorry but you will be SOL.
