Daniel was visiting his best friend out in California, where Keisha's parents happened to live. His best friend actually worked with Keisha's dad, so while he was waiting for his friend to finish up after a game, Dan started to chat with Keisha's mom and his best friend's girlfriend. After hearing a few details about Daniel, Keisha's mom mentioned that she had a daughter that was single, and showed a picture, after which Dan proceeded to pursue Keisha. He asked for permission from Keisha's dad, and he willingly gave him the okay to ask her on a date. Daniel then had to craft his text message to his future wife, and asked her on their first date. Keisha drove up to Wyoming a few short weeks later, and told Dan she was ready to be his girlfriend. The rest my friends...is history.
After about a month of dating, I was Facetiming Daniel, and I knew I had to tell him. I drove away from my very first weekend in Wyoming and knew that I was going to marry him (although my mom thought I was crazy). So, one afternoon, during a completely normal conversation I said, "I have something to tell you....", and then I proceeded to say, "I just saved 15% by switching to Geico" and laughed hysterically. I had chickened out, but he knew there was more, so he said, "Tell me." I took a deep breath and told him, "I love you, and I'm in love with you." Brave moment, but I don't regret it.
Daniel: I knew the minute Christina (Keisha's mom) showed me that picture of her. I got goosebumps and I knew she was going to be my wife. I even ended up telling Keisha before we ever met that she was the one. I was on a trip to Cabo with one of my groomsmen, and I called Keisha for the first time, and confessed that I thought she was the one. Keisha: I knew after that first weekend we spent together. Something was different. The way he looked at me, and the way I felt around him...it was just so different in the best way. I knew we were going to get married.
