Ride the entire Metromover
FREE! Taking the entire loop from Brickell up to the Arsht Center and back is a great way to see the city from above.
Go to the beach, obviously
If your crew wants to be in the middle of the action, South Beach is the move. But if they’d prefer a deserted tropical island feel, head out to Crandon Park. For the real Robinson Crusoe effect, go all the way to the end of Key Biscayne to Bill Baggs State Park. Or get crazy and strip down at Haulover.
Check out innovative art at the ICA
Norman Braman -- of car dealership and stadium lawsuit fame -- opened up one of the greatest free art museums in the world this year, boasting a collection of experimental, avant-garde, and sometimes-bizarre works at the Institute of Contemporary Art. They offer free guided tours every day at 1pm (if you’d like a little assistance understanding what, exactly, you’re looking at). Or you can just spend the afternoon relaxing in the museum’s lush sculpture garden.
Ocean Drive
Look, if you’ve never been to Miami before you pretty much HAVE to see it. Start at Fifth Street and work your way north. If they insist on stopping for a drink, go over the top and get something smoking at Sugar Factory. If they want to eat, A Fish Called Avalon and Havana 1957 are good options, with equally fantastic people watching.
Wynwood Walls
FREE! The street art here is one of the most impressive collections in the world, with blocks upon blocks of colorful provocative murals lining the streets. Walking around is like a free outdoor museum, that’s different every time you go.
Ride through the Everglades
The Florida Everglades is a masterpiece of nature at its best, and an airboat tour is a fantastic way to enjoy the unique plant and animal life that resides there. Along with an amicable climate and amazing ocean currents, the Everglades is America’s only sub-tropical wilderness. Take an airboat ride and get your family and friends up close and personal with this beautiful landscape!

Picnic in South Pointe Park
The view from the grassy knoll at this park on the southern tip of Miami Beach is without question the best in the city.

Take a trip into the surreal as you wander underground hallways beneath Miami Beach hotels and arrive at the Russian and Turkish Baths. Here you can sweat out whatever you need to expel, get a massage or relax in a jacuzzi.
Brickell City Centre
From its position in the heart of downtown Miami, Brickell City Centre helps pump style through the trendy city's veins. The open complex spans three city blocks and four stories, housing roughly 100 different retail, restaurant and cinema options for visitors to pass the time.
Venetian Pools
This public pool with an Italian village theme is a relaxing alternative for those looking for water and sun away from the fast pace of South Beach. The pool does not use chemically treated water, relying instead on fresh water from artesian wells.
Zoo Miami
Zoo Miami is fast becoming one of the best zoos in the nation, and it probably stands out from other zoos you've been to—the exhibits here are entirely cage-free, making it one of the first free-range zoos in the country. Miami's climate allows it to keep a wide variety of animals from Asia, Australia, and Africa like no other zoo in the country.
