While having many mutual friends, and living a mere few blocks from one another at Rutgers, Ryan and Corey's paths didn't cross until after graduating. In the summer of 2014, Corey went down to Belmar to visit her friend who was renting a bungalow for the summer. Coincidentally, some of Corey's hometown friends were renting the upstairs unit and Ryan was one of their roommates. The two groups got together and spent that Sunday out at PK’s and D’jais. Corey swooned over Ryan’s sweet dance moves, and the rest was history.
A little over five years later, Ryan gathered their families together back at the bungalow where they had first met. With the help of her friends, Ryan got Corey all the way down to Belmar in the dead of winter, all while keeping her completely in the dark as to the real reason for the trip. When Corey arrived at the bungalow she was met with pure surprise. She walked down a white runner decorated with rose petals to find friends and family, and Ryan at the center of it all next to a sign that said “Will you marry me?”. Ryan got down on one knee, asked for her hand, and she said, FINALLY!
