We first started dating during the fall semester of 2012 while attending the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Our first date was a long romantic walk to Belt's for ice cream. We continued going on dates throughout the semester. After a trip up to Rib Mountain State Park for the day Brian officially asked me to be his girlfriend and we have been together since. After we both graduated from UWSP we headed to Kirksville, Missouri where Brian began the exciting journey of medical school. Two years later we moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for the clinical rotations part of Brian's schooling. We are excited to say that we have finally moved back to Wisconsin as Brian begins his internal medicine residency in La Crosse. We can't wait for our next adventure and are so excited to finally be married!
On a random weeknight in late summer we decided to go for a short walk after dinner. Brian insisted that we go to the walking trail that had the scenic overlook of the Cuyahoga River. The walk to the overlook was quiet, which was so unlike many of our other walks. Something was up! When we arrived to the overlook area we took a couple of minutes to just look at the scenery. Brian then turns to me and says "I need to talk to you about something." He grabs my hand and proceeds to get down on one knee. Now what many of you may not know about Brian is that he is quite the poet. What comes next is the sweetest proposal poem Brian had written and memorized (well mostly). Ending with "I am so thankful to have you in my life, and it would make me forever happy to call you my wife." Amidst of all my happy tears I said yes. Brian then placed the most gorgeous ring on my finger.
