Near the ceremony site; the most characteristic and unique feature of the site is the exposure of some 40,000 large, regularly shaped polygonal columns of basalt in perfect horizontal sections, forming a pavement. This dramatic sight has inspired legends of giants striding over the sea to Scotland.

The Boise River Greenbelt is a paved path with multi-use trails that runs along the Boise River from Lucky Peak to Garden City. With over 25 miles of usable pathways, it touches many parts of Boise and connects people from all over the city with beautiful views, restaurants, Boise State athletics, and spots for fishing and bird watching. The river itself offers a fun floating excursion, make sure to pack swim suits just in case!
