10 years in the works!! We are GETTING MARRIED!!

2012 is when our story begins just after I (Sam) graduated. I happened to be back visiting some friends for the weekend at Central Michigan University. A big group of us decided to head downtown for the night and Dustin happened to be there too. This was our first time meeting. Our night concluded with Dustin, being the true gentleman that he is, walking me home and even giving me a piggyback ride. We ended up at a friends apartment where a "late night" snack of mac and cheese was prepared for me by Dustin. Wow! How did he know the way to my heart!! Sadly though, after that night we didn't see each other for another year! Fast forward....Dustin had now graduated from CMU and was living in the Metro Detroit area near me. We reconnected at a Christmas party. The following day while having lunch at Qdoba with the same group from the Christmas party. I commented to Jordan Holland & Katy Woda (Steffey) that "I am going to date that guy someday!" A few months later, we started hanging out more and more. Playing co-ed volleyball, virtual golf, roaming downtown Royal Oak and spending lots of time together he officially made me his girlfriend in the spring of 2014. Our relationship was 9 years in the making....until Dustin popped the question summer of 2023. Our love language is adventure. Anything outdoors; hiking, biking, camping & skiing. I was super athletic my whole life however skiing....No Way! Dustin even paid for me to take lessons so we could enjoy our times together even more. Many fun trips up north, out west and even convincing Dustin to cheer for the Michigan Wolverines and Wisconsin Badgers at a few football & basketball games. We continued to grow as a couple and enjoyed each others interests. Moving forward. On our first out west hiking trip in 2023 Dustin asked me to marry him. After spending 9 days in Las Vegas, Arizona & Utah during our last hike up to Angels Landing in Zion National Park, he popped the question. I thought it was odd he wanted to take a picture and asked a stranger hiking with us... Dustin hates posing for pictures. Again in Dustin's true gentleman fashion he got down on one knee and asked! Of course I said yes and here we are celebrating our BIG DAY with all of you!
